Group Medical

Employer sponsored plans are designed to provide medical benefits for the employees of an organization. A variety of plan styles and options are available. Our experienced InPro agents will help you determine which type of plan best meets the needs of your company or organization.

Types of Employee Health Plans

Traditional

This type of insurance offers employees a broad choice of doctors and hospitals on a fee-for-service basis. preventive services are generally not covered.

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)

Employees receive greater benefits when using doctors and hospitals that participate in the network. Reduced benefits and higher out-of-pocket costs are incurred when doctors and hospitals from outside the network are utilized. preventive services are typically offered with these plans.

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

Employees must use a participating Primary Care Physician (PCP) that they select from the network for insurance to apply. Out of network services are typically not covered.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

These plans combine a high deductible health plan with a savings vehicle. Theoretically, this will lead to lower premiums for the employer, while allowing the employee to accumulate money for large medical expenses in the future.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

These plans allow for employees to set aside pre-tax wages for uncovered medical expenses including deductibles, co-pays, over the counter medicine and many other related items. These plans can also be expanded to cover daycare expenses. Both the employer and the employee realize significant tax savings by utilizing this type of benefit in conjunction with their health plan.

Voluntary Health Plans

Many products are available on a voluntary basis, meaning that they are offered by the employer, but voluntarily elected and paid for by the individual employee. These products include sickness, hospitalization, disability, life, dental and vision.

Healthy Living Requirement Plans

Health carriers are encouraging healthy living in order to reduce longer term medical costs. Some carriers have designed plans that suit their company culture to reduce premiums for employers and reinforce a healthy lifestyle for their employees.

County Supplemented Plans

Several counties are entertaining ideas to cover the uninsured. Wayne and Macomb counties have implemented plans for this purpose. These plans offer a low monthly premium paid equally by the employee, the employer and the county.
